What is Adventure Center?First and foremost, Adventure Center is a home-away-from-home where you can be sure your child will be safe and secure. It is a warm and nurturing environment for those hours when you need child care assistance. Adventure Center has been providing care for infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers and kindergarteners for families throughout Washtenaw and adjoining counties since 1989. We offer full and part time care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday at competitive rates. Our staff is among the most experienced you will find. 11 of our 18 full-time staff members have been with us for at least 12 years. The training and knowledge of our staff has resulted in the development of unique, developmentally appropriate programs designed to challenge our children while allowing them to do all the things children do. While we cannot be all things to all people, these things you can be sure of: Your child will receive an adventure in loving, caring and sharing. Our first job, and your biggest concern, is to make sure your child’s transition to childcare…from interacting with individuals to interacting with groups…is as natural as it can be. Our experienced, well-trained staff gently guides each child, so that this extremely important first step is the exciting adventure it should be. Our second job is to a program which ensures that your child’s early exposure to education is fun, not forced. Children in our program have such a good time, they don’t realize how much they are learning. Your child will become familiar with the methods of education…experiment with the tools of education…and experience the excitement of hands-on learning. Our goal is to prepare your child for the next step in the education process. Please give us a call at (734) 434-0505. Adventure Center’s self-contained classrooms, indoor gym, and outdoor playgrounds offer a wonderful environment for children to grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically at a pace suited to each child at each level. Why choose Adventure Center? The task of choosing the best center for your child can be an overwhelming one. Some options would not even be considered as acceptable. But how do you decide among several seemingly good choices? One unique feature that we can offer your child at Adventure Center is a consistent and well-trained teaching staff. Adventure Center has only been in existence since 1989, however, the director and some of the staff (who are still with us) moved from a smaller center that had been in operation for 15 years. Our full time staff average 12 years of experience. Several have been with us for 20-30 years. In the early childhood/child care profession that is quite unique. We are fortunate to have such a high caliber and experienced teaching staff. Additionally, all of our staff attend annual training sessions and conferences. All full and part-time staff are trained in CPR and First Aid and attend a refresher course annually. An important tangible measure of quality is the accreditation that Adventure Center received from the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized national, voluntary professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools and child care centers. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators. What is accreditation? Early childhood programs accredited by NAEYC’s National Academy of Early Childhood Programs have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with the Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs, and been found to be in substantial compliance with the Criteria. A copy of the Criteria can be obtained from NAEYC. What is a high quality early childhood program? A high quality early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. In accredited programs, you will see:
